The Red House Glass Cone in Wordsley is hosting a three day festival of comedy, music and poetry as part of the Black Country Day celebrations.


Dudley Council’s heritage attraction is providing the backdrop to the events organised by local events company KMS Events from 11 – 13 July.


It kicks off with A Black Country Night out on Friday 11 July, featuring comedy from Aynuk, Fizzogs, Black Country Gaz, Emma Rollason as Dolly Allen and The Sponners! Tickets for the comedy evening cost £10 and are available from

On Saturday 12 July there is a day-long Celebrating Cultural Diversity event which costs £5 per person (under 14s free). This will feature live music, performance art, dancing, art exhibitions and more. The line-up is set to include creators of the Black Country Anthem, The Empty Can, Pat Breslin, Alice Coley, Esther Turner, Highway Dave and the Varmints, Pete Boddice, Ben Smith, Sunjay, Taylor Made, Pete Kelly, Eddy Morton, DANNI G, ViX & her MsChiefs, The Dhol Crew, Sylvia Brennan School of Irish Dancing, Bostin’ Things, Faith’s African Drum School, artist Luke Perry and also featuring Jason Head & The Allen Francis Big Band.
